Where Efficiency and Excellence Meet
We are trained to administer all types of anesthesia to the highest degree of care. Every anesthetic is personalized and tailored for each individual patient based on their past medical history, surgical requirements, and response to the anesthetic. Below are the different options we offer along with an explanation.
Conscious Sedation / Twilight
Medicine is given through an IV to make you comfortable. You are sedated but able to respond to someone asking you a question. There is a high likelihood you will remember things from the procedure but we are there with you to make you as comfortable as possible.
Deep Sedation / Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
Medicine is given through an IV to take you to a state of unconsciousness where you are still breathing on your own. You are able to respond after vigorous stimulation. You may remember things from the procedure though most do not.
General Anesthesia
Medicine is given through an IV to a state of unconsciousness, unable to respond to stimuli. A tube is placed in your trachea (windpipe) and you are either breathing on your own or with the assistance of a ventilator. Medicine is given via an infusion to keep your anesthetized until the end of the procedure. You should not remember anything though there is always a risk.
Regional Anesthesia
A small needle is placed near a nerve, medicine is given to surround the nerve creating a numb sensation. This approach can be used by itself or in combination with any of the previously mentioned types.
